Hello Kitty has teamed up with Nike to launch a limited edition collection. The Hello Kitty x Nike collection features Sanrio’s signature kawaii style on Nike t-shirts, sweatpants, hoodies and shoes.
Hello Kitty Nike Air Presto is a hymn to the 13 colorways that debuted in the model’s initial launch, with Hello Kitty taking center stage. Plus, just like other Sanrio product offerings, the Hello Kitty Nike Air Presto design details intentionally include moments of happiness and surprise with a custom Hello Kitty heel counter, surprise bow on the sneaker tongue along with sun and rainbows inside the insoles.
“We are so excited to finally combine our respective brand icons: the red Hello Kitty bow and the Nike swoosh. We know that our friends and fans often use Hello Kitty as a muse for personal expression.” says Jill Koch, senior vice president, marketing, sales and business development, Sanrio.
The collaboration follows an unreleased Hello Kitty collection designed by Nike in partnership with Hiroshi Fujiwara in 2004, celebrating Hello Kitty’s 30th anniversary. Although the collection was never fully produced and released to the public, the partnership between the two brands has reached almost mythical proportions with super fans on the hunt ever since.
The collection, which also includes kids’ footwear in preschool and toddler sizes, will launch on Sanrio.com on May 10 and then on Nike SNKRS and select retailers worldwide.
