Hypebeast to debut new ocean-themed collection with immersive installation at HBX New York.

National Geographic and Hypebeast have launched a new lifestyle apparel collection themed to celebrate ocean and marine life. The collection, designed to outfit adventurers and leisure-seekers alike, offers mix-and-match pieces evoking inspiration from National Geographic’s photography and legacy of exploration and adventure.

Our creative team drew inspiration from many unique elements of the ocean to bring this collection to life,” says Mary Shoval, senior vice president, brand merchandising & product design, Disney Consumer Products, games and publishing. “We hope our consumers will be inspired by the colors, patterns and iconic artwork featured in each piece that celebrate the beauty of the ocean and marine life.”

With this collaboration, National Geographic aims to inspire people to fall in love with the beauty of the ocean, learning more about its vast wonder and the importance of protecting it.

The apparel incorporates the waves and motion of the deep waters, structures and patterns of icy glaciers, graphics and portraits of marine life and beyond — highlighting penguins, octopuses, jellyfish, sharks and coral. The fall line includes an assortment of men’s, women’s and unisex styles, featuring short- and long-sleeve tops, tees, jackets, and pants, with many pieces containing recycled polyester.

Hypebeast is also utilizing its flagship store in New York City, HBX, to bring fans an immersive experience, displaying illustrations of National Geographic’s outstanding marine life footage. The exhibit opened from Oct. 3-10, where attendees can also purchase items from the clothing line.

Select items will be sold at HBX, and at hbx.com. The line will also be available on shopnatgeo.com and at select stores at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Springs, and Downtown Disney.
