Mattel announced that it has entered into a global licensing agreement with Universal Brand Development for DreamWorks Animation’s “Trolls”. Mattel, with this agreement, will develop a line of toys dedicated to the franchise, including dolls, cars, soft toys, games and more. The collection is expected to launch at retailers around the world in autumn 2023.

The new licensing agreement builds upon existing licensing partnerships between Mattel and Universal Brand Development, such as those for DreamWorks Animation’s “Spirit Riding Free”, Illumination’s “Minions”, Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s “Jurassic World” and ” Fast & Furious ”by Universal.

“DreamWorks Animation’s “Trolls” has captivated families around the world with its colorful characters and upbeat message. We look forward to solidifying our strong relationship with Universal and DreamWorks and creating fantastic toys that will inspire children to find their happy place with a spectacular Trollsline, ” says Nick Karamanos, Mattel senior vice president entertainment partnership.

“We are excited to expand our partnership with Mattel to include DreamWorks Animation’s beloved Trolls franchise. Our partnership with Mattel will provide a new and innovative line of toys.” said Joe Lawandus, senior vice president, general manager, global toys and hardline, Universal Brand Development.

With the great success achieved, there will be a new film “Trolls”, which will be in theaters starting from November 2023.
